My name is Emma St Marthe and after 8 years working as a legal secretary for an international law firm I decided to change career and set up as a childminder.
The key drive for this change was my desire to provide a childcare option that exceeds expectations, meets the needs of busy working parents and most importantly provides the highest level of care for children.
My son attended a local nursery for some time and most of that time was marred with disappointment and great concern, particularly in terms of high staff turnover and unhealthy menus. I looked for an alternative but was unable to find one. So after searching for the ideal childcare solution I came to the conclusion that busy working parents in our area deserve a high quality flexible childcare option and I was in the position to provide it.
Before my career in the legal field I worked as a live-in nanny, firstly for an American family caring for their two children aged 8 months and 2½ years and then for an English family caring for their two children aged 15 months and 3 years. Whilst living in America I studied at a local college and gained a Certificate in Early Childhood Education for 0-3 year olds.
